Bonding
What is Bonding?
Bonding (also called composite fillings) is the process of adding tooth coloured filling material to a tooth. The most common reasons are tooth wear or teeth that are genetically too small. We also use bonding to help improve the way teeth function.
Generally we ask you to bleach your teeth 2 weeks before we fill them to ensure we are matching the fillings to nice white enamel.
Bonding costs on average between £90 and £270 per tooth depending on complexity.
Composite veneers (where the whole front surface of a tooth is covered) and repair of severe tooth wear can be more expensive.
RECENT CASES
Feel free to browse a selection of our recent composite bonding cases.
After Orthodontics with fixed braces the wear (caused by the previous crowding) became apparent. We used composite bonding to repair the worn teeth and restore their correct shape/proportions.
Mark had gradually been wearing his teeth down over years and had not noticed until it was pointed out to him by a professional.
We used fixed braces to correct the position of his teeth so that we could bond back on what had been lost. We took some photos half way through the bonding procedure so you can see just how much enamel/dentine had been lost.
Gareth had two old fillings on the edges of his upper central incisors. He had Invisalign braces to align his teeth followed by composite bonding to replace the old fillings and improve the look and proportions of his teeth.
This lateral incisor looked slightly small as it had some wear on the back corner which we resolved with composite bonding.
Emily had a peg lateral that we built up to mimic a normal sized lateral incisor before starting treatment.
